A practical definition
Most conversations about AI and marketing focus on what a business can do with AI. They ask how to create content, analyze results, answer customers, personalize campaigns, or automate work.
Those questions matter, but they are only half of the shift. Customers are also using AI to research problems, compare options, check claims, find products, summarize reviews, and narrow their choices.
Agentic Marketing is the practice of preparing marketing for a world in which AI agents act on behalf of businesses and buyers.
The Academy studies both sides. It helps owner led businesses put AI to practical use while improving the accuracy, clarity, consistency, and evidence available to search and AI systems.
No one can promise that an AI system will rank, cite, or recommend a business. The platforms do not publish one universal formula, and results can change with the question, system, location, account, sources, and date. What a business can do is improve its readiness and test what actually happens.
Agentic Marketing has two sides
Side one: Marketing with AI
AI helps the business research, plan, create, respond, analyze, and complete work. The business sets the goal and keeps responsibility for the result.
Side two: Preparing for AI assisted decisions
People use AI to research and compare. The business cannot control the answer, but it can improve the information and evidence those systems may find.
Begin with one useful task
The practical question is not “How do I automate everything?” Ask where AI can remove repetitive work, improve consistency, or support a better decision without removing the judgment your business still needs.
Make the business easier to understand
On the buyer side, check whether your services, location, hours, prices, policies, ownership, and proof are accurate and consistent. This is not keyword stuffing or a secret instruction for a model. Google says its AI search features do not require special AI markup. Ordinary search fundamentals still matter.1
Why the two sides belong together
A business can use AI well internally and still be unclear to the systems its customers use. It can also have excellent public information while making little practical use of AI in its daily work.
Use AI to improve how the business works. Improve the business information AI may have to work with.
The Four Pillars of Agentic Marketing
The Four Pillars turn a broad market change into a practical business review.
Findable
Can relevant systems reach and discover the information the business intended to make public?
Legible
Can they form a clear and consistent understanding of the business and its offers?
Trusted
Can important claims be checked against current and credible evidence?
Recommended
What appears in realistic tests, and what should the business reasonably improve without promising placement?
The pillars are not a hidden algorithm. They organize work a business can perform and observations it can document.
What Agentic Marketing is not
Agentic Marketing is not a promise to reverse engineer a hidden ranking system. It is not adding keywords until a model notices, publishing hundreds of thin articles, treating schema as a recommendation switch, or claiming that one flattering test proves permanent visibility.
It also does not replace human marketing, service, judgment, or trust. Bing warns against keyword stuffing, low value automated content, misleading structured data, and attempts to manipulate AI systems.3
A practical example
Holiday shopping
A shopper may ask an AI system to find a thoughtful gift under a certain price, compare several products, or identify a local business that can deliver before a deadline.
The business cannot force its way into the answer. It can make sure its product descriptions, prices, availability, delivery terms, location, policies, reviews, and public identity are accurate and consistent. At the same time, the owner can use AI to draft seasonal messages, organize promotion ideas, prepare customer follow up, and reduce repetitive work.
That is Agentic Marketing on both sides of the sale.
What can a business control?
- Whether intended public pages work and remain accessible.
- Whether important business facts are current and consistent.
- Whether public claims have credible support.
- Whether content answers real customer questions clearly.
- Whether profiles, policies, and offers agree across relevant sources.
- Whether results are tested responsibly instead of assumed.
- Whether leads and sales are measured separately from visibility.
This is not a one time project. Businesses, products, reviews, platforms, and customer behavior change. Readiness is an operating practice.
Start where you are
You do not need to understand every model, buy a large technology stack, or rebuild the entire business before you begin. Use the free checklist to see what deserves attention first.

Agentic Marketing can improve readiness, information quality, and the discipline of testing. It cannot guarantee that any search or AI system will crawl, index, cite, rank, mention, or recommend a business.
